Job summary

A prominent healthcare provider in London is seeking a dedicated health care assistant for full-time work, primarily focusing on tissue viability and continence management. The role involves community visits, supporting various clinics, and managing patient care. Job description
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualifications: Experience as a health care assistant, knowledge of managing patients with tissue viability and bladder & bowel health issues. Preferably evidence of training in wound management, pressure area care, catheter care and incontinence management.
  • Experience: Work in community settings visiting people at residence and clinics with various wound types and continence issues. Experience in administrative roles: documenting on SystmOne, minute taking, stock ordering and audits, Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Teams.
  • Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and non-verbal), time management, IT skills (minute taking, stock ordering, management), clinic work, infection prevention, dressing application with aseptic technique, catheter management, incontinence management, teamwork in a busy environment.
  • Travel: Must travel across Ealing borough and up to one mile beyond; driving and carrying equipment preferred.
  • Employment: Full-time, 5 days per week, Monday to Friday 08:30‑16:30. Minimum 4 days per week in tissue viability and continence/catheter clinics, plus home visits.
  • Additional responsibilities:
    • Support clinics across borough, joint visits, nursing homes, supported living, residential homes and Clayponds community hospital.
    • Apply dressings, NWPT, compression therapy (bandaging, wraps, hosiery), catheter management, continence promotion.
    • Carry out ABPI assessments and bladder scans.
    • Monitor vital signs, NEWS2, escalating concerns.
    • Provide wound care, bed preparation, incontinence management, pressure ulcer categorisation, continence assessment.
