About Veridox

Veridox is an AI-driven fraud detection platform purpose-built for insurers. We combine document analysis with contextual intelligence to output detailed risk analysis. We have a high focus on trust, accuracy, and explainability. As part of our growing team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our infrastructure matches the rigour of our AI.

The Role

We are looking for a hands‑on AWS Architect to lead a critical infrastructure migration from Azure to AWS. This is a contract role aimed at execution and strategy. We do not need an "ivory tower" architect who only draws diagrams; we need a builder who can define the strategy and write the Terraform to execute it. We are primarily migrating data from Azure, where our services and web applications are being rewritten from scratch. There is a longer term vision to migrate remaining compute from Azure too.

You are the right fit if you have deep scars from previous migrations and know exactly how to avoid them this time. You understand that "up‑time" and "data residency" aren't just buzzwords, they are existential requirements for our insurance clients. You must be able to hit the ground running, integrating immediately with our engineering team to deploy our NodeJS service and React SPA into a production‑ready environment.

Communication is paramount. You will be working alongside a tight‑knit team, and you need to be able to explain complex infrastructure decisions clearly. If you prefer working in a silo, do not apply.

Must Have
  • AWS Well‑Architected Framework : You live by these pillars. You can demonstrate how you design for security, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) : You don't click around the AWS console. You have strong experience defining immutable infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring our environments are reproducible and version‑controlled.
  • SQL Proficiency : You will be familiar with SQL and be comfortable digging into databases as well as understanding the complexities of migrating between databases and how to ensure minimal downtime whilst doing so.
  • Communication First : You can articulate technical risks to stakeholders and mentor developers on infrastructure best practices. You fit into and work around the team, rather than working over them.
  • Compliance Buff : You understand what controls are, their importance in maintaining a strict and compliant working environment and platform (ISO27001, DORA, SOC2, etc). AWS Security Hub will be a tool that you're familiar with. You must be able to understand risks and plan for mitigation strategies.
  • Data Residency & Geo‑Redundancy : You have a very strong understanding of replicating environments across regions and managing access via subdomains. You know how to architect for availability zones, strict VPC segmentation, and bulletproof backup strategies.
  • Identity & Access (OIDC) : Strong familiarity with OIDC and modern authentication flows. You understand how to secure the handshake between our services and the outside world.
Should Have
  • App Stack Familiarity : Experience specifically deploying NodeJS services and React SPAs on AWS (whether via ECS, Fargate, or Lambda / CloudFront). You understand the specific quirks of our stack.
  • Azure Knowledge : While we are moving to AWS, understanding the Azure terminology and architecture we are leaving behind will help speed up the translation process.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Data Migration : Lead the architectural design and execution of moving our databases / data from Azure to AWS with minimal downtime.
  • Building for Resilience : Architect a multi‑region setup that adheres to strict data residency laws, ensuring our clients' data stays where it needs to be while remaining geo‑redundant.
  • Deployment Pipelines : Work with the team to set up the infrastructure to host our NodeJS service and React web app, ensuring seamless CI / CD integration.
  • Fortifying the Network : Design and implement the VPCs, subnets, and security groups to ensure a "least privilege" network access model.
  • Knowledge Transfer : You won't just build it and leave. You will document your work and ensure the permanent team understands how to maintain and scale the new environment.
Why Join Us?

This is a high‑impact contract with a clear mission. You won't be bogged down by legacy red tape; you will be the architect defining the future foundation of a high‑growth AI company.

If you care about rigour, impact, and building systems that don't break : we’d love to hear from you.
