Overview
The Role We are looking for Academy Technical Coaches on a casual basis for Arsenal Women Football Club. The roles are responsible for delivering an effective coaching programme for players aged 7-16 years old in the Girls Youth Academy and will support the development of the players through innovative planning, delivery and management of training sessions and match days.
Responsibilities
- Planning, delivering, and reviewing a holistic coaching programme in line with the Academy Technical Programme for goalkeepers and/or outfield players
- Ensuring high standards of coach delivery to support the LTPD of all players within the age group
- Working closely with other age group coaches to deliver appropriate individual training programmes
- Attending all matches and assisting match day management of all fixtures against boys grassroots/academy teams as well as other PGAs, both home and away
- Liaising with a multi-disciplinary support team (e.g. Medical, Physical Performance, Education, Sports Psychology & Talent ID) when planning and delivering coaching sessions and matches
- Ensuring all relevant information is recorded fully using appropriate club processes
- Conducting performance reviews, in line with the requirements of our club, and delivering feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required
- Ensuring safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy and complying with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
Qualifications
- Working towards UEFA B / FA Level 3 (Block 1 essential)
- FA Youth Award
- Current FA Licensed Coaches Club Member
- Up to date FA Emergency Aid Qualification - FA Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification (BFAS) or FA Level 2 Emergency
- First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
- Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues including holding a current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop certificate
- An accepted FA Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure (previously known as an FA CRB Disclosure)
- Experience of coaching youth academy players (7-16yrs)
- Experience of mentoring and developing other coaches
- Understanding of the FA Women's and Girls player pathway
- An understanding and implications of Long Term Player Development
- Ability to travel independently
- Knowledge of the standard of players required at Arsenal Women FC and an understanding and knowledge of the overall Women's Talent Pathway in England
- An understanding and implications of Long Term Player Development and how to develop young players
- Able to work as part of a coaching team and the ability to motivate others
- Able to build a strong rapport with the players in the age range
- Ability to set realistic goals for players within the age groups
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Motivated and driven individual
- Commitment and passion for the game
- A dynamic, confident communicator (verbal, written) whilst able to adapt style and approach as and when required
