Qualifications

  • Current registration with HCPC or NMC.
  • Substantial experience in a Minor Injuries Unit or Accident and Emergency Department.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomously assess and treat patients in a busy environment.
  • Work across two MIU Units covering various shifts, including weekends.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to treat diverse conditions.

Skills

Triage skills
Suturing
Physical assessment of musculoskeletal injuries
Wound assessment and management
Documentation skills using a medical model
Knowledge of NHS reforms
Competent as an Autonomous Practitioner

Education

Degree / diploma in Nursing, Paramedicine or Physiotherapy
Current professional registration (HCPC or NMC)
Post graduate level studies in Minor injury assessment and management or equivalent

Tools

IT systems including EPR and clinical management systems
X-ray interpretation
