A leading engineering firm in Stockport is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive automation and continuous improvement processes. You will manage the Robotic Welding Cell Project and develop manufacturing solutions while implementing automation strategies to enhance welding quality and efficiency. Ideal candidates have a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with hands-on experience in large-scale automation projects. Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale automation or capital projects.
  • Experience & knowledge of robotic systems.
  • Deep understanding of welding processes.
  • Skilled in interpreting welding drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Robotic Welding Cell Project from planning to integration.
  • Develop manufacturing solutions for build and quality issues.
  • Implement automation strategies for improved welding consistency.
  • Process optimisation through jig and fixture design.
  • Reduce build hours and waste using lean principles.
  • Support capital investment initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide early input into product design for manufacturability.
  • Standardise and document operating procedures and technical documentation.
