Audit Senior

Manchester | Permanent | Full Time (37.5 hours/week)

Hybrid working available; must be local to the office. Salary range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.

We are working with one of the largest UK payroll providers, a leading firm of Accountants and Business Advisers operating across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics. They are expanding and seeking talented individuals in Audit and Assurance.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Audit & Assurance team. This role offers a collaborative environment that supports professional growth.

As an Audit Senior, you will lead audit fieldwork, conduct substantive and analytical procedures primarily on-site at client premises, and manage audit assignments from planning to completion. You will also prepare statutory financial statements, identify high-risk areas, and report concerns to the Audit Manager or Partner. As you develop in the role, you will take on additional responsibilities, including planning and finalising audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead audit fieldwork and execute substantive and analytical procedures.
  • Prepare audit documentation complying with regulatory standards.
  • Review financial statements and identify key risk areas.
  • Collaborate with Audit Managers and Partners to meet client needs.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients throughout the audit process.
Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an audit-focused role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audit procedures and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
