Job description
Audit Manager – Banking and Lending

Oversee audits in the lending sector, reporting to Directors and Partners, ensuring compliance with firm procedures and quality standards. Conduct audits, brief staff on assignments, provide training, liaise with senior client staff, resolve key audit matters in consultation with stakeholders, attend and present at client audit committees and board meetings, and support Directors/Partners with business development, including scoping and pitching. Lead recruitment, line management, sector‑specific training, and development of junior team members, while participating in industry organisations. Collaborate with national technical and training teams to enhance audit methodology and train on IFRS9 and other technical areas impacting lenders.

Qualifications
  • ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualification with strong IFRS 9 expertise, particularly in accounting and auditing expected credit losses.
  • Practical experience auditing ECL models for retail/consumer lending products such as mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, and consumer finance.
  • Background in banking, commercial, or retail finance sectors, with ability to develop or enhance IFRS 9 audit methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and project‑management skills, with experience leading teams and delivering complex assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a collaborative and team‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to spot inefficiencies and improve processes, and a passion for continuous learning and connecting with people.

About the role
