Job Title: Audio Visual Event Technician

Location: Birmingham, UK

Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 per annum (DOE)

Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Audio‑Visual Event Technician to join our technical events team based in Birmingham. You'll be responsible for supporting a wide range of live, virtual and hybrid events from set‑up to breakdown, ensuring equipment operates smoothly and events deliver an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, test, and de‑rig AV, lighting, video and staging equipment for events.
  • Transport and maintain AV inventory in workshop and on‑site.
  • Troubleshoot technical faults before and during events to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Work closely with event managers, production teams and clients to meet technical requirements.
  • Always follow health & safety and electrical safety best practices.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours support when required (evenings/weekends).
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in live events, AV support, or production environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio, video, lighting and staging systems.
  • Good problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Flexible approach to work schedule (evenings/weekends/travel).
