Overview

I am working with a UK-based team of transport planners and engineers that supports clients in advancing sustainable mobility and energy transitions to help address the impacts of climate change. Role: Transport Economist (lead and manage the business case, transport economics, and financial appraisal workload within the UK Advisory Group). This is a key role for someone with strong technical expertise in economic appraisal, strategy, and business case development for transport schemes. You will provide both technical leadership and project management support across a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects, while also building and maintaining strong client relationships in the sector.

Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • Consultancy experience with a proven track record in economic appraisal, strategy, and business case development for a wide range of transport schemes, including complex financial and economic appraisals for public and private sector clients.
  • Strong understanding of place-based economics, land value uplift/capture, and the application of economic and financial appraisal techniques to support spatial growth and urban regeneration.
  • Skilled at maintaining and growing client relationships, while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Established and growing network of industry contacts, supported by positive client referrals.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and inspiring consultancy teams, supporting colleagues in their professional development and career progression.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification such as TPP (or equivalent).
