The Price Reporter (Associate Editor) for EMEA Freight Markets is responsible for the day‑to‑day reporting on the shipping and freight markets in the Western hemisphere.

The Impact

The Price Reporter is responsible for every aspect of market reporting, including the collection and publication of primary market information, running an assessment process, assessing the value of a variety of markets, reporting market‑related news, writing commentary and analysis, contributing to methodology development, and engaging with market sources.

Accountabilities

• Assess freight markets: survey market participants throughout the day, publish price updates, demonstrate a thorough understanding of S&P Global Energy’s methodology, ensure it is up to date, and perform a full set of assessments without a spreadsheet.
• Write high‑quality market commentaries that help readers understand the market and how assessments were arrived at.
• Report news about the markets: supply and demand developments, government data, new regulations, trader movement news, analysis of price trends, and other relevant topics.
• Engage with the industry: find and nurture new market sources, maintain good relationships with existing sources, and keep source lists up to date.

Qualifications

• Reporting or analytical experience.

Preferred Skills
