Our client, a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy, is seeking an experienced Associate Ecologist to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven ecology professional ready to take a senior role in shaping and delivering high-quality ecological services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
As an Associate Ecologist, you will lead project teams, provide technical oversight, and manage client relationships from inception to completion. You’ll guide ecological assessments, support nature-based solutions, and contribute to strategic ecological planning alongside a highly respected group of specialists. This role offers genuine scope to influence business direction and mentor developing ecologists.
Lead and manage ecological projects across multiple sectors
Produce and review high-quality technical reports and assessments
Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Ensure compliance with legislation, best practice, and internal quality standards
Contribute to bid writing and business development activities
Strong background in ecology with experience at Senior/Principal level or above
Proven track record of leading ecological assessments and delivering projects
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage workloads, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams
Holder of protected species licences (desirable but not essential)
Full UK driving licence
