Our client, a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy, is seeking an experienced Associate Ecologist to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven ecology professional ready to take a senior role in shaping and delivering high-quality ecological services across a diverse portfolio of projects.

The Role:

As an Associate Ecologist, you will lead project teams, provide technical oversight, and manage client relationships from inception to completion. You’ll guide ecological assessments, support nature-based solutions, and contribute to strategic ecological planning alongside a highly respected group of specialists. This role offers genuine scope to influence business direction and mentor developing ecologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage ecological projects across multiple sectors

  • Produce and review high-quality technical reports and assessments

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, best practice, and internal quality standards

  • Contribute to bid writing and business development activities

About You:
  • Strong background in ecology with experience at Senior/Principal level or above

  • Proven track record of leading ecological assessments and delivering projects

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • Ability to manage workloads, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Holder of protected species licences (desirable but not essential)

  • Full UK driving licence
