Overview

We are working with one of the UK’s most respected housebuilders to recruit an Assistant Site Manager for a flagship development of over 200 new homes in West Lothian. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a large-scale residential project, while developing your career with a business that truly invests in its people.

The development comprises a range of high-quality, low-rise timber kit family homes – and you’ll be at the heart of ensuring they are delivered to the highest standard.

What’s in it for you?
  • The chance to work with an award-winning housebuilder with excellent future career prospects.
  • Exposure to a major multi-phase development, boosting your experience and project profile.
  • A supportive environment with an emphasis on training, progression, and team development.
The Role

As Assistant Site Manager, you’ll be supporting the Site Manager with all day-to-day site activities, ensuring the build programme is met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll help drive progress across trades and subcontractors, maintaining strong communication and attention to detail throughout the build process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with site management to deliver each phase of the programme on time and on budget.
  • Supervising trades and labour, coordinating daily activity, and resolving issues on site.
  • Upholding the highest standards of Health & Safety, NHBC requirements, and Building Regulations.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider team.
  • Supporting handovers and ensuring excellent customer care.
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience as an Assistant Site Manager or in a similar site leadership role.
  • A background in housebuilding, ideally with timber kit experience.
  • NVQ level qualification in Construction Management (or equivalent), or time-served in trades with proven supervisory experience.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to lead, motivate, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • This role offers an excellent platform for an ambitious individual to step up within a supportive business that recognises and rewards talent.
