A leading NHS healthcare provider in London is looking for an Assistant Psychologist to support and enhance psychological care within neurorehabilitation services. The role includes conducting neuropsychological assessments and providing structured interventions under supervision. An exciting opportunity within the neurology directorate. We are looking to recruit an assistant psychologist to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the diagnostics and neurorehabilitation service, across all sectors of care; providing neuropsychological assessment and neuropsychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical neuropsychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified neuropsychologist and within the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures.
The post holder will also be required to assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
The post holder will be a member of the CNCHP Department. The Department provides neuropsychology services in acute, tertiary, day/out-patient and community rehabilitation settings for clients with acquired neurological disorders, their families and carers.
The Assistant Psychologist plays an important role in supporting service delivery by undertaking neuropsychological assessments and delivering structured interventions to manage the emotional, behavioural and cognitive consequences of acquired neurological conditions.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Lead Clinical Psychologist, and will have the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary teams.
The role provides a rich array of clinical experience, and experience of multidisciplinary working. You will also be part of the wider Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Health Psychology Department comprising of Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Health Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, and Assistant Psychologists across St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with regular opportunities for training and networking. The role is well suited for someone hoping to obtain a place on Clinical Psychology Training.
