As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be fundamental in delivering key sub-systems to our customers on time. You will see the manufacture of submarine equipment first hand, to experience the complex quality requirements and to be a part of a significant UK project.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for scheduling, reporting, prioritisation, issue management, risk management and stakeholder management.

You will work closely with several teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, wider Project Management teams, Commercial, Engineering and many more.

  • Taking responsibility to ensure work continues through a safe working environment.
  • Ensuring delivery of equipment to time/cost/quality.
  • Approval of purchase order quotations.
  • Point of contact for cross function liaison to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
  • Responsible for progress reports for both internal and external consumption.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 5 days in the office/onsite. Once you have completed your training and become fully integrated into the organisation, you will have the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week.

Essential Experience of the Assistant Project Manager
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing or project management environment.
  • Strong computer literacy skills and extensive experience in data management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines, plans, and schedules.
  • Able to navigate change easily and continually seeks to learn and improve new skills.
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager
  • Professional Qualification or Project Management Qualification (desirable) or equivalent.
  • UK driving Licence.
  • Working towards chartership.
