Job description
Assistant Production Manager - Chester Area - Permanent Role

The Assistant Production Manager will support the Production Manager in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations within a high-performance manufacturing environment, taking responsibility for production when required and driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Production Manager you will ensure production continues smoothly and targets are hit/exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor high-performance machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production.
  • Maintain quality output by following stringent performance and inspection standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Support the Production Manager with daily operations, reporting, shift planning, and coordination.
  • Assume full responsibility for production activities when the Production Manager is absent.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the production line.
  • Monitor KPIs, identify performance deviations, and take proactive action to ensure targets are met.
  • Work effectively under pressure, making confident, informed decisions to keep production running smoothly.
