The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in Costs Law and experience in supervising a team. You will be responsible for business development, performance management, and strategic planning. Qualifications

CostsLawServiceshavegrownexponentiallynationwidetoformateamofover30LawCostsDraftsmenandLawyerswithimmenseexperienceinallaspectsofcostslawintheUKand35+staffnationwide.NotOnlydotheyrepresentanationallegalaidpracticeonalltheirbilling,theyarenowfocusingongrowingtheirclientbaseintheUK,andduetothevastexpansionrequireanAssistantManagertoassisttheCityofLondonTeam.

Theirbroadspectrumofbillingservicesvariesacrossmultipleareasofpracticeisbasedonasoundknowledgeofthecostssystemandtheabilitytomanageclientexpectationstoensuretheircashflowismaintained.

TheirworkinvolvesawidevarietyoflegalpracticeareasandincludingCourtofProtection,ChildrenLaw,ClinicalNegligence,CommercialLitigation,Family,Housing&PropertyLitigation,Immigration,JudicialReviewandPersonalInjurymatters.Thisincludes,allthevariedtypesofBills,PODS;Replies;Negotiations;Budgets–relevantprecedents,PAandDAassessmentsetc..

The Role

Theidealcandidatewillhavestrongtechnicalknowledgeandexperienceofdraftingbills,excellentnegotiationskills,supervisionortrainingexperiencewouldbebeneficial.CostLawserviceswouldalsobekeenoncandidatewhoarelookingtoreducetheirCostspracticeforamoreAssistantmanagementrole.

ThesuccessfulcandidatewillbepartofamanagementteaminassistingoftheoverallbusinessdevelopmentoftheCompany.Thecandidatewillberequiredtodevelopandgrowthecompanybyexpandingitsclientbase,whilstsupervisingateam.

Thecandidatewillbeinvolvedinperformancemanagementofdraftsmenandlawyersemployedorengagedasconsultantsalongwith,auditingandreporting,

TherolemayalsoinvolveassistingtheManagerinrecruitmentofcandidatesthatwillhelpdelivercompanyobjectives,wherenecessary.

Theidealcandidatewillalsobeinvolvedindevelopingpolicy,stafftraining,strategicplanningandimplementationofbusinessobjectives.

PromotingtheCompanythroughsocialmediaactivitywillbeanessentialpartoftherole.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • ReportdirectlytotheManager;

  • EnsuringCompanyperformancetargetsaremetforteammembers;
  • TrainingdraftsmeninInterPartesmattersofLAAandensuringchangesinCostsLaworbillingpractices/proceduresarecascadedtotheteaminatimelymanner;
  • Carryingoutstaffappraisals;
  • Businessdevelopment–lookingtomarkettheCompanyinaccordancewiththestrategicbusinessdevelopmentplantoincreaseclientbaseandturnover;
  • GuidingstaffwhohavequerieswhendraftingLegalAidClaims(Claim1’s/Claim1a’s/Claim2’s,interpartesbills,budgetsandplans);
  • ToliaiseandadviseClientsfeeearnersofandsupportstaffinrelationtothevarietyoflegalcostsmatters;
  • Keepinguptodateandfurtherdevelopingcompanypolicy,procedures,manualsandcasemanagementsystems;
  • InvolvedinCompanystrategicplanningandimplementationofbusinessobjectives.
