Position: Assistant Director of Student Financial Services

Department: Student Financial Services

Manchester University seeks a dedicated and experienced financial aid professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services. This role is key in supporting the planning and implementation of financial aid operations while ensuring strict compliance with federal and state regulations.

What You'll Do:

  • Counsel and advise students and families on financial aid and payment strategies.

  • Evaluate financial need and assemble aid packages tailored to each student’s circumstances.

  • Administer and reconcile federal and state financial aid programs in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee loan programs, including application processing, certifications, entrance/exit counseling, and promissory notes.

  • Monitor and manage updates to financial aid regulations and ensure institutional policies remain compliant.

  • Act as the primary contact for outside scholarships and external funding organizations.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial aid administration.

  • Strong commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students and staff.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email platforms, web-based systems, and 10-key calculator use.
