Job summary

A global provider of legal and business services is seeking a self-motivated Assistant Accountant for their Manchester office. This hybrid role requires at least 2 days on-site and involves preparing management accounts, maintaining reconciliations, and supporting audits. Ideal candidates will be AAT qualified with strong communication and IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel. Full study support for qualifications is also provided.

Overview

The finance team at DWF are currently hiring for a self-motivated Assistant Accountant to join the team in the Manchester office. This role is a hybrid position with a requirement of at least 2 days per week in the Manchester office.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in progressing their career within finance as you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of tasks supporting many areas of the business. You will work closely with experienced Management Accountants, supporting the preparation of both internal and external financial information for management and financial accounts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis, for review by key stakeholders.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Prepare ad hoc reports for budget holders
• Assist with external audit preparation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required
