Job description
Asset Manager/Project Manager – Highways

Our client is seeking an experienced Asset/Project Manager to join their Highways and Structures team, working around the M25 and surrounding areas, including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.

The Asset/Project Manager will be responsible for managing records, data, planning and control, network management, and asset management. The role includes managing the Highways and Structures inventory and implementing company policies with a focus on Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental issues.

Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Monitor current assets, identify future maintenance needs, and develop sustainable renewal proposals.
  • Manage the inventory, structures, and pavement inspection programs.
  • Develop a Schemes Database for proposals.
  • Collate records on network condition, inventory, and improvements for infrastructure and road users.
  • Produce and monitor inspection programs regularly.
  • Liaise with and manage subcontractors to deliver work to required standards within agreed timescales. Carry out risk assessments and method statements, ensuring approval prior to work.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to clients as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all subcontractor work.
  • Identify work packages within closures, providing quantities and specifications to operations teams as needed.
  • Be familiar with material performance and road construction techniques; have working knowledge of highway maintenance activities.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in highway maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong team player with adaptability.
  • Well-organized with the ability to motivate others.

Qualifications:

HNC / HND in Construction or Civil Engineering.
