Location: Cardiff (Hybrid - 2-3 days in the office)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

We're looking for a passionate Essential Skills Assessor to join a supportive, employee-owned organisation and guide apprenticeship learners to achieve key qualifications in literacy, numeracy and digital literacy.

What you'll be doing
  • Deliver engaging workshops and one-to-one sessions to help learners reach Essential Skills standards
  • Register, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks in line with awarding body requirements
  • Plan, assess, mark and maintain accurate learner records while meeting compliance standards
  • Inspire and motivate learners and employers to achieve positive outcomes
  • Travel within the Cardiff region to assess learners in their workplaces
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of performance targets
Essential
  • Experience of work-based learning and awarding body practices
  • Track record in delivering Essential Skills qualifications
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to undertake a company-funded DBS check and EWC registration
Desirable
  • Recognised training or assessing qualification (A1 Assessor Award, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent)
  • Welsh language skills
