Wolverhampton: City of Youth Culture – Artists call out: Seeking Multi-disciplinary Artist for exciting project in Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton: City of Youth Culture is our new 3-year project of festivals, events, careers development and arts trails delivered by a partnership of cultural organisations. Co-created with young people, aiming to improve their self-esteem, resilience, and social skills and building a lasting platform for cultural activity.
We are seeking a talented multi-disciplinary artist with the ability to work across various art mediums for an exciting project in Wolverhampton. The goal is to create a multi-disciplinary art piece that will be featured on an arts trail around the city. The selected artist will be local, have experience working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds, and will be responsible for facilitating up to 4 workshops in the first two/three weeks of July 2024.
The workshops will involve groups of young people coming together to co-create a unique piece of artwork. The artist will guide and inspire the participants, helping them express their creativity and contribute to the final artwork. It would be ideal if the artist has prior experience working on an arts trail, as they will be expected to create a piece that seamlessly fits into the overall trail.
In addition, the selected artist will have the opportunity to collaborate with a digital developer who will create a digital platform for the artwork to be augmented. This will provide an interactive and immersive experience for viewers of the arts trail. The artist will work closely with the digital developer to ensure the successful integration of their artwork into the digital platform.
