About the role

We have a great opportunity for an Area Services Coordinator to join our waste team covering the London North area based out off our Basingstoke Sewage treatment works.

This role is essential, allowing you to significantly contribute toward the safe and compliant operation of one of the largest Sewage Treatment Works in the UK and Europe. You will provide expert technical support to Performance Managers across the catchment area, ensuring full compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

What you’ll be doing as Area Services Coordinator
  • Take ownership of designated Controller of Premises responsibilities, such as statutory inspections of critical equipment in compliance with UK health and safety regulations.
  • Review and update key Health and Safety documentation for Asbestos, Legionella and Fire and own and manage critical service and maintenance contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Work with Area Services Manager to manage and implement statutory inspection actions.
  • Conduct at least 2 monthly SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) inspections and observations.
  • Perform statutory inspection audits every six months to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure that a culture of behavioural safety is embedded within the team and that the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and other affected persons are our top priority.
  • Provide support to the site Controller of Premises to maintain welfare and general facilities at an adequate level.
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience and positively contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with all of our customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
Base Location and Working Pattern

Base Location: Basingstoke (STW)
Working Pattern: 36 Hours Monday‑Friday
Due to the nature of this role you must hold a full UK drivers licence.

What you should bring to the role
  • Broad range of Health & Safety skills/knowledge.
  • Good report writing and communication skills to enable a variety of audiences with varying technical knowledge to understand.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to communicate in a friendly, open and constructive manner with a range of people.
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence required as travel will be essential.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring
  • A facilities background would be desirable.
  • A strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and application.
  • IOSH or equivalent (Desirable but would be expected to complete if not held).
