Job summary

Location: Cambridgeshire, PE26 2XH

Salary: Competitive Salary, negotiable based on experience

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to begin a career as a Commercial Catering Engineer.

Job Role: In this role, you will be learning how to provide excellent service to our wide range of clients, ensuring the maintenance, repair, and installation of catering equipment across the Cambridgeshire area and beyond. You will be trained to work with some of the top names in the catering equipment industry, developing the skills to provide first‑class solutions to meet our clients' needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Training in Preventative Maintenance / Servicing: Assisting in scheduled maintenance on a wide variety of commercial catering equipment.
  • Supporting Reactive Repairs: Shadowing experienced engineers to learn how to diagnose faults and carry out on‑site repairs.
  • Equipment Installation: Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new catering equipment.
  • Client Interaction: Learning how to provide excellent customer service and build strong client relationships.
  • Record Keeping: Developing skills in maintaining accurate records of all work completed.
  • Compliance: Understanding and following safety regulations and standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Optional Weekend Work: Opportunities to assist on weekend shifts on an overtime pay basis as required once trained.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics, or electrical systems.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training, including COMCAT qualifications (1, 2 and 5).
  • Basic practical or hands‑on skills in either electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work are desirable.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Full driving license is desirable but not essential at entry level.
  • Open to candidates who have just left college or are still studying and looking to start work.
  • Must be eager to develop a long‑term career in the catering equipment industry.
