Job description
Overview

This is an opportunity to experience a role in the library service, developing customer service skills through training and development. Forget the traditional view of a library; we are vibrant community hubs offering a safe space for all. Responsibilities

Assist customers with using public computer facilities, Wi‑Fi, wireless printing and scanning, digital books and apps. Support customers in navigating digital services and resources. Contribute to a busy library environment with customer service at the forefront.

Work in buildings that are busy with customers, groups, events and meetings; expect to be on your feet for large parts of the day.

Apprenticeship Entry Requirements
  • Be aged 16 or older at the start of the apprenticeship.
  • Be a UK citizen or have proof of the right to work in the UK. If not a UK or EEA citizen, must have resided in the UK for the last 3 years.
  • Meet the essential qualification criteria in the role profile and be able to provide original qualification certificates at interview.
  • Do not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level in the same or closely related field to the apprenticeship; it must be unrelated in subject and content from qualifications already held.

Closing Date: Sunday 5th October 2025

Interview Date: Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th October 2025
