Overview

We are seeking motivated individuals to join CIPHER Medical Consultancy Limited as an Emergency Care Assistant apprentice. You will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills which you will apply to support experienced pre-hospital clinicians, on frontline ambulances, delivering high-quality patient care.

This is the perfect position for those looking to develop a career in the pre-hospital care environment, with the potential to advance knowledge and skills and advancing their career beyond the apprenticeship. Applicants do not need to have previous clinical experience.

The ECA apprenticeship is a year long program of study and culminates with an end point assessment undertaken by external examiners. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program candidates will gain an industry recognised qualification and be eligible to apply for full time roles within the company.

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced disclosure and barring services check is required.

Main responsibilities
  • The delivery of excellent patient care.
  • Recording baseline observations and communicate results to lead clinician.
  • Safe use of AED.
  • Basic airway management.
  • Assisting the Paramedic.
  • Ensuring health, safety and welfare of patients and colleagues
  • Ensuring the safeguarding of service users in line with CIPHER Medical policies.
  • Completing vehicle daily inspections.
  • Appropriate communication.
  • Safely use of all ambulance equipment.
  • Ensure the prompt, legible and accurate completion of all patient and incident records.
  • Ensure the sharing of information is undertaken in compliance with information governance procedures.
  • Driving relevant vehicle types operated by CIPHER Medical.
  • In line with CIPHER Medical’s policies maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness of vehicles, equipment and completing documentation as required.
  • Complete statutory and mandatory training and undertake CPD.
  • At all times exhibit high standards of personal and professional conduct performance.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; however please note we cannot accept candidates who have previously undertaken an ECA apprenticeship.
  • Full UK Manual driving licence with a maximum of six penalties applied.
  • C1 licence – beneficial, not a mandatory requirement.
