Overview

We are recruiting for Apprentice Ambulance Support Practitioners; this role is a key part of our Emergency Clinical Care Team.

We are specifically recruiting for Berwick and Belford - North Area but also surrounding areas. Please only apply to your priority area.

Training and progression

The training course is a 13-month program, a level 3 apprenticeship-Diploma in Ambulance Emergency & Urgent Care Support & Emergency Response Ambulance Driving. Continued progression within NEAS is subject to you obtaining these level 3 qualifications.

Qualifications and English/Maths
  • You must hold a level 1 qualification or above in Maths and English or be able to demonstrate a working application of Level 1 or above. You will be asked to provide your certificate as evidence of this if you are invited to interview.
  • If you do not provide this at interview we will ask you to complete a BKSB (Basic & Key Skills Builder Test) to confirm your functional skills at a later date.
  • As part of this you will also be supported to obtain literacy & numeracy level 2 if you do not already have them or the equivalent within 12 months of starting in post. You will also be required to sign a learner agreement for this level of commitment
  • You MUST have a UK (Manual) driving licence with either full C1 entitlement or a Provisional C1 Licence & proof of passed Theory section of the Test at the time of applying.
  • Please also note that you will be required to have the full C1 entitlement on your driving licence on day one of starting with NEAS.
