Job description
Overview

Harris Health Alliance, a Harris Computer company, are recruiting for an Application Consultant on a permanent, remote-working basis. This newly created growth role is fully remote, but you’ll have flexibility to mix working remotely with trips to our collaborative offices based in Chippenham, Swindon, Chester and Plymouth.

What you will do

This role sits at the intersection of customer delivery and technical problem solving, focused on the clinical model and configuration layers of our product. Day to day, you’ll translate real-world workflows into robust configurations, map and improve customer processes, and ensure new sites are set up correctly and ready for adoption. You will lead 2nd/3rd line investigations, deliver bespoke development in the legacy clinical model where appropriate, and support customers end-to-end through demonstrations, training, onboarding, and onsite go live. Beyond early life support, you will maintain strong customer relationships, field and escalate system queries, and act as a conduit between customers and internal teams. You’ll help define and scope new product work, balancing customer needs with delivery feasibility. Success in this role means stable go lives, measurable improvements in customer operations, and clear, timely communication across Support, Professional Services, Sales, and R&D.

In performing this exciting new role, your core duties and responsibilities / work activities, will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Delivering product demonstrations
  • Preparing tailored demo scripts and datasets aligned to customer use cases
  • Delivering live, remote demonstrations; capture questions, feedback, and follow-up actions
  • Maintaining demo environments and ensure scenarios reflect current product capabilities
  • Providing customer process mapping assistance
  • Facilitating workshops to capture current state processes; and help map future state workflows
  • Identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; align workflows to product configuration
  • Producing process maps, RACI notes, and signoffs to inform configuration and development
  • Configuration for new projects
  • Gathering configuration requirements; set up roles, permissions, forms, templates, and parameters
  • Building and validating configurations in non-production, then promote to production with approvals
  • Maintaining configuration inventories, change logs, and environment parity
  • Delivering customer training
  • Developing and maintain training materials, quick-reference guides, and exercises
  • Delivering remote role-based training and assess understanding and reinforce best practices
  • Tracking attendance, feedback, and competency; schedule refreshers as needed
  • General onboarding (fielding system queries, pain points, escalating accordingly)
  • Running onboarding clinics and Q&A sessions; manage early-life support queues
  • Logging, triaging, and escalating pain points; ensure timely responses and clear updates
  • Providing guidance on best practices, navigation, and setup for new users and sites
  • Providing implementation and go-live support
What we are looking for (Experience/Skillset)
  • History of delivering tailored product demos to varied audiences, preparing scripts, scenarios, and demo data
  • Experience designing role-based training materials (guides, exercises) and delivering sessions onsite and remotely
  • Ability to capture feedback, manage Q&A, and translate questions into follow-up actions
  • Practical experience working with domain/clinical data models, configuration parameters, business rules, and validation logic
  • Demonstrable experience triaging, reproducing, and resolving complex application issues in configurable enterprise systems
  • Proven collaboration with R&D and Support to drive defect fixes and communicate status clearly to stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of XML clinical data models and product configuration layers (business rules, validation logic, parameters)
  • Competence in legacy system customization: SQL scripting/model-driven changes, version control, unit/regression testing, and safe deployment/rollback
  • Site configuration setup: roles/permissions, forms/templates, workflows, and system parameters
  • Process mapping: facilitating workshops, documenting current/future state, identifying gaps/risks, and aligning configuration to workflows
  • Organised, proactive and quality-driven; able to balance delivery pace with compliance and clinical safety considerations.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Awareness of clinical workflows, safety considerations, and data privacy/governance expectations.
  • Familiarity with NHS clinical safety processes (DCB0129/DCB0160 awareness) and information governance.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence and working within Agile delivery.
