A major healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an Anaesthetic Practitioner to provide skilled anaesthetic assistance and care for postoperative patients. The ideal candidate must have a live NMC UK pin, be either an ODP or RGN, and have completed the NES Core Competencies for Anaesthetic Assistants Portfolio. The shift pattern for this post is Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
The Day Surgery Unit (DSU) in New Victoria Hospital (NVH) requires an Anaesthetic Practitioner (AP) who must be either an Operating Department Assistant (ODP) or a Registered General Nurse (RGN) who has completed the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Core Competencies for Anaesthetic Assistants Portfolio.
Dual training may be required in the future. The role requires the successful candidate to care for patients with increasingly complex needs in line with the British Association of Days Surgery (BADS) recommendations.
The post holder will be expected to engage in multi‑site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to meet service needs.
Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
