Theatre Facilities
  • 12 Theatres: 8 in the main theatre, 4 in Day Surgery Unit (DSU), plus support for 2 maternity theatres and IVF.
  • Diverse Specialties: Experience a wide range of procedures including Urology, General Surgery, Upper GI, Breast, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Oral, Plastic, Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, CEPOD, Robotics and Bariatric surgeries.

To apply: You will need to be a Registered ODP (operating Department practitioner) with the HCPC or RN holding a recognised ANAESTHETIC qualification.

Main duties of the job

At Kingston Hospital, we perform over 26,000 surgeries annually, utilizing our 12 cutting-edge operating theatres to provide exceptional care to patients across South West London and Surrey. Main Duties:

  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality patient care under supervision, including implementing basic and complex healthcare practices. Ensure safe techniques in patient and equipment handling, document care accurately, and participate in multi-disciplinary decision-making.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Effectively communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Report incidents and contribute to team discussions. Provide clear explanations of nursing interventions and respond sensitively to others\' needs.
  • Management & Leadership: Utilize resources effectively, delegate tasks to junior staff, support peers through preceptorship, and participate in policy development and quality audits. Engage in reflective practice and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Governance: Maintain high standards of clinical care, keep patients informed, identify risks, and update clinical skills for ongoing professional development.
  • Education & Training: Identify personal development needs, participate in training, and adhere to health and safety policies.
