A leading healthcare provider in Wales is seeking an Administration Team Leader to oversee the Alaw Unit's administration team. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring staff training and adherence to policies. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, experience in healthcare administration, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. This position promises a dynamic work environment focused on quality service delivery within the NHS framework, providing essential support to both outpatient and inpatient services.
To support the administration team within the Alaw Unit, which covers the Alaw Day Unit reception, Alaw Day Unit file library and the Alaw Ward reception, on the delivery of an accurate, confidential and efficient service. Under the management of the Administration Manager the team leader will maintain set objectives to ensure policies and procedures are developed and followed in compliance with local and national guidance and policies. To supervise and manage the administrative team to deliver a high quality service and apply best practice.
The post holder will actively engage in and support the development of new technologies and systems, enabling the delivery of modernisation plans that will enhance the administrative services within the Alaw Unit.
The post holder will ensure an efficient and effective delivery of the day-to-day activities surrounding the administration of the outpatient and inpatient administration team.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting with the day to day supervision and co-ordination of the admin team members, provide a supportive role as a clinic clerk and member of the team during periods of reduced staffing, and assist in the production of statistical and other workload analyses and audits for the Administration Manager.
The post-holder is required to work with minimal supervision and autonomy, demonstrating strong management qualities and to be open, transparent and trustworthy.
To be responsible for the operational and waiting list management of the Oncology and Haematology Service in the West, ensuring that a high-quality service is provided and maintained at all times. With the Administration Manager, assist in the planning for and delivery of new and additional workload through the effective utilisation of resources across the team ensuring that all the service is cost effective.
Direct line management to staff within area of responsibility this will include coaching, objective setting, mentoring, sickness and annual leave.
To be responsible for ensuring that all staff within area of responsibility have received regular appraisals, appropriate training (including mandatory) and development to fulfil roles.
To be responsible for ensuring that BCU polices for staff management are adhered to in area of responsibility including sickness absence, capability, recruitment and selection, grievance, and disciplinary.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
