A leading aviation recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Airworthiness Engineer for their client in Bournemouth. The role focuses on the ongoing airworthiness of a Civil Aircraft Fleet, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. Responsibilities include managing defect rectification and overseeing maintenance programs. Candidates should possess an EASA/CAA license or relevant engineering degree and extensive experience in airworthiness management. This is a permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • Hold full UK Govt SC or capable of gaining SC in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Five-year UK working history.
  • Relevant aircraft type training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with EASA, UK CAA, and UK MAA regulations.
  • Maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition.
  • Manage Certificates, Radio Licences, and Insurance.
  • Oversee Aircraft Maintenance Program compliance.
  • Control defect rectification with OEMs.

Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Airworthiness Engineer Civil Aircraft to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for the continuing airworthiness management of our nominated Civil Aircraft Fleet, ensuring compliance with all applicable Aviation Regulations and International Standards. This is a critical position that supports flight safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Location: Bournemouth
Hours: Monday to Friday

Due to the nature of this opportunity, the successful applicant will already hold full UK Govt SC or be capable of gaining full SC in a reasonable timeframe. You should hold a UK passport and have a 5-year UK working history.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all continuing airworthiness activities comply with EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition, including operational and emergency equipment.
  • Manage and validate Certificates (CofA, ARC, PtF), Radio Licences, and Insurance.
  • Oversee Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP): review, approval, effectiveness analysis, and compliance.
  • Manage defect rectification, liaising with OEMs and DOAs as required.
  • Control deferred defects and rectification interval extensions.
  • Implement Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), Technical Orders (TO), and other mandatory requirements.
  • Manage aircraft modifications, technical assessments, and configuration control (Mass & Balance).
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting in line with regulatory standards.
  • Support Safety Management System (SMS) through hazard reporting and technical investigations.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Continuing Airworthiness Management.
  • EASA/CAA Part 66 B1/B2 License or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant aircraft type training (advantageous).
  • Expert knowledge of EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA, and FAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with BCAR A8-21, A8-23 & A8-25 (advantageous).
  • Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and ISO standards.
  • Change management experience (advantageous).
