Job summary

A leading HVAC manufacturer in Guildford is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Technician to join their dedicated team. You will be responsible for emergency fault finding and repairs on commercial HVAC systems, including VRF and chiller systems. Competitive compensation includes a base salary of up to £55k, bonuses, overtime, and a strong pension contribution. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with HVAC systems including VRF/VRV air-conditioning.
  • F-Gas, hydrocarbons, refrigeration and air-conditioning qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience tackling technical faults and fixing them in commercial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency fault finding and fixing of HVAC systems.
  • Support client-site engineers with diagnostic software.
  • Replace factory parts to restore HVAC systems to operational status.

Job description
Position

Air Conditioning Technician – for a commercial AC manufacturer – splits, multi’s, DX, VRV / VRF, hybrid AC and chillers. Base salary up to £55k (plus bonus, overtime and high pension contribution).

Desired Experience

Air conditioning, refrigeration, HVAC and/or chiller service and maintenance engineer, with an emphasis on technical fault finding and fixing. Heat pump and/or water‑cooled HVAC and/or hybrid HVAC experience would be of great interest.

The Role

One of the UK's leading AC manufacturers / suppliers is seeking an experienced HVAC service and maintenance engineer to join their service technician team. You will be focused on a specific region for emergency fault‑finding and fixing call‑outs on commercial HVAC VRF / VRV and hybrid air‑conditioning systems, including chillers, supporting client‑site engineers using your service‑checking software to diagnose and rectify faults / error codes and replace factory parts. You are the last line of technical support to get the client’s HVAC system back online in full working order.

Experience Required

Ideally you will have technical fault‑finding experience on large VRF/VRV air‑conditioning systems and chiller HVAC systems. You should be highly capable at fault finding and fixing. F‑Gas, hydrocarbons, refrigeration and air‑conditioning qualifications / certifications and manufacturer training would be an advantage, especially NVQ level 3 or level 2. Great teamwork and communication skills are also important for a client‑facing perspective, working with site HVAC engineers to resolve fault‑finding and fixing call‑outs quickly and effectively. If you have worked your way up through the tools as an apprentice and have extensive HVAC manufacturer training along with Service Checker / Maintenance Tool experience, with or without Level 2 or Level 3 AC and refrigeration certifications, then please still apply.

Due to increased sales growth of their air‑conditioning systems contracts they are looking to add to their South East team. Their air‑conditioning technicians all have extensive and advanced knowledge of servicing HVAC, VRF / VRV, hybrid air‑conditioning, chillers and other refrigerated and chilled water systems such as heat pumps from the top AC manufacturers, and their service engineers are highly skilled at advanced fault finding and fixing.

The Package

Initial indications are a base salary up to £55,000, depending on experience and technical ability, for 37 hrs per week. A company bonus, overtime, company van or a car will be provided along with pension, private healthcare and dental insurance schemes. Furthermore, 27 days holiday plus bank holidays and a high pension contribution.
