A technology consulting firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an AI Architect to shape the data infrastructure for AI-driven quantitative research. This fully remote role requires expertise in designing data architectures for AI/ML teams and knowledge of AWS analytics stack. Qualifications

Overview

AI Architect / Data Strategy - Quant Research. Fully remote. Start: ASAP. Initial contract duration: 6 months. Outside IR35.

You'll be shaping the data infrastructure that underpins AI-driven quantitative research. The role focuses on transforming raw market data into structured, enriched datasets that empower researchers to build and test models with minimal engineering friction.

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience designing and implementing data architectures for AI/ML teams
  • Deep technical knowledge of AWS analytics stack (S3, Lambda, Glue)
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg and Python (Polars)
  • Familiarity with notebook-based workflows (e.g., Jupyter), reproducibility, and feature pipelines
  • Understanding of quant research workflows, feature engineering, and model development
  • Bonus: Rust development experience
  • Strong ability to bridge technical engineering and research needs in R&D-heavy environments
