Overview

A lovely family based in Battersea, London, are seeking an After-school Nanny to care for their toddler and two school-aged children. All general nanny duties are required for this role. Speaking French and Hindi would be a great advantage, and multilingual candidates are highly valued. A driver would also be a bonus. The ideal candidate will be warm, active, and experienced with young children. The two older children attend the same French school, while the youngest is in a nearby nursery. A valid first-aid qualification is essential for this position.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm or 7:30 pm finish possible for the right candidate. Potential for higher hours, but the stated hours are the minimum during school terms; more hours may be available during school holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children
  • School and nursery pick-up, including driving to activities when required
  • Engaging the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as visits to the park
  • Supporting evening routines, including homework supervision, bathing, dinner, tidying, and bedtime
  • Providing homework assistance, particularly with Key Stage 2/primary maths, explaining key concepts clearly and patiently
  • Encouraging early literacy by reading books with the children
  • Making learning enjoyable, motivating, and structured
  • Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks, including simple vegetarian options when needed
  • Establishing and maintaining consistent daily routines to support the children’s structure and development
  • Keeping children’s bedrooms and play areas clean, tidy, and well-organised
  • Managing child-related tasks such as laundry, tidying toys, and ensuring schoolwork and bags are ready for the next day
