Job description
Overview

You may be eligible to join our team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) if you hold current registration with NMC, HCPC or GPhC. We invite practitioners with the relevant qualifications, motivation, flexibility and experience in clinical practice to apply. This vacancy is for a Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner with experience in managing acute presentation in Oncology and Haematology.

The role requires cross-site working and may involve duties in assessment units, chemotherapy units, radiotherapy, inpatient areas and outpatient areas. UHDB’s Advanced Clinical Practice is integral to delivering high-quality, safe patient care. You will join a progressive team that continues to develop to meet patient needs.

Training will support you to become an advanced, skilled, generic practitioner with transferable skills. You will be flexible to meet service needs, and trained ACPs will have opportunities to discuss rotations within the role.

As the Trust aims to provide standardized care seven days a week, you must be available to work a full pattern of shifts including weekends and nights. Cross-site working is established within the ACP team; therefore you should be willing to work across both the RDH and QHB sites. Shift patterns will vary according to the area of practice and service requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage acute presentation in Oncology and Haematology within UHDB.
  • Provide cross-site coverage across RDH and QHB sites as required by service needs.
  • Work within assessment units, chemotherapy units, radiotherapy, inpatient areas and outpatient settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in rotations within the Advanced Clinical Practitioner role as agreed, to develop transferable, generic skills.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current registration with NMC, HCPC or GPhC.
  • Hold relevant qualifications and meet the application criteria.
  • Motivated, flexible and experienced with a demonstrable passion for clinical practice.
  • Eligible to work across UHDB sites and willing to work across RDH and QHB as needed.
Benefits and Opportunities
  • Development opportunities, including professional and leadership development.
  • Ongoing support from recruitment through to joining the team and beyond.
  • A variety of staff benefits including employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, onsite fitness classes and car schemes.
