Administration Assistant - Waste Management / Weighbridge

(Maternity Cover - with potential to extend)

We are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant with a background in waste management and weighbridge operations to cover a maternity leave position. This is a highly customer-facing role and an integral part of the business, requiring confidence, professionalism, and a firm approach when needed. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity for the role to be extended.

The role:
  • Operate the weighbridge accurately, ensuring all weights and documentation are correctly recorded
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, dealing confidently and professionally face-to-face and by phone
  • Process customer orders and complete all associated administration accurately
  • Manage customer queries, disputes, and complaints, using an assertive and professional manner where required
  • Promote company services while ensuring compliance with waste management procedures
  • Prepare and manage invoices
  • Provide administrative support to the logistics team and management
  • Maintain a professional and organised office environment
The candidate:
  • Proven experience in waste management and weighbridge operations (essential)
  • Strong customer-facing experience with a confident and assertive communication style
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Hours of work:
  • Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 17:00pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays - half day
  • 42.5 hours per week
Pay Rate:
  • £12.50 per hour
