Job description

We are seeking a highly organised, professional and proactive School Administrator to join our friendly and dedicated team at our school in Wingrave. This pivotal role provides essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective day‑to‑day operation of the service, acting as a key point of contact for staff, visitors and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for the school, welcoming visitors in a professional manner and managing incoming telephone calls, and directing enquiries to the appropriate staff members.
  • Provide administrative support to the young people we support, assisting with queries when they attend the school office.
  • Ensure new staff are effectively onboarded, including system access, training coordination and completion of all required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records, including young people’s attendance data.
  • Attend meetings, take accurate minutes and circulate key information to managers and teams in a timely manner.
  • Support colleagues within the wider administration team as required.
  • Contribute as a member of the School’s Business Support team and undertake additional responsibilities in line with the needs of the organisation.
  • Students may present with challenging behaviour – you will receive specialist training to help manage their behaviour.
  • Provide personal care when required.
Qualifications
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, sometimes under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise your own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to maintain relationships with external stakeholders, internal colleagues of all levels and the people we support.
  • A flexible approach to your work and a good sense of humour, willing to turn your hand to whatever needs to be done.
  • It would be helpful if you are a driver.
