Remuneration: $71,072.43 ‑ $73,287.41 Per Annum (Superannuation, Salary Packaging)

Location: Wallsend Health Campus with support across Hunter New England

About the Role

The Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks Program is a joint initiative between NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education designed to support the First 2000 Days Framework. The program ensures all four‑year‑old children attending long day care or community preschool services have equitable access to important health and development checks.

As the Administration Officer you will play a key role in supporting our clinicians by coordinating service visits across preschools in the Hunter New England region. You will manage scheduling, data entry, payroll tasks, clinic organisation and resource management that keep the service running smoothly.

This position also supports the HNEKids ADHD Service where duties include appointment booking, welcoming families to the clinic, medical typing and general administrative functions that contribute to a positive and efficient patient experience.

It’s a varied and rewarding role that blends coordination, communication and teamwork in a purpose‑driven environment.

About Us

Based at Wallsend Health Campus you will be part of a dedicated administrative team supporting community paediatric services across HNELHD. The culture is collaborative, warm and supportive with a strong focus on helping children and families access quality care.

You will work closely with admin officers from both Brighter Beginnings and HNEKids ADHD Service along with clinicians and multidisciplinary staff who value professionalism, reliability and a child‑focused mindset.

About You

You are organised, adaptable and confident in managing multiple tasks in a fast‑evolving service.

Your communication skills enable you to work effectively with clinicians, preschool staff, families and colleagues across different locations.

You Bring
  • A valid NSW Working With Children Check or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to adapt to changing workflows as services evolve
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records, Microsoft Office and the confidence to learn new systems
  • A friendly and professional approach when working with parents, carers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in healthcare administration or paediatric services is beneficial but not essential
  • A willingness to learn and contribute proactively is key
