Job summary

A staffing agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a Casual (Ad-Hoc) Housing Support Worker to assist clients in crisis situations, particularly those who are homeless or facing housing issues. Job description
CASUAL (AD-HOC) HOUSING SUPPORT WORKER
  • To support Clients in housing/family crisis
  • To support clients who are homeless or in tenancies with housing issues or personal issues with health etc.
  • To work in a day centre for homeless and vulnerable adults where they offer showering, food and launder facilities.
  • Develop links with the local community
  • Maintenance of the Health and Safety incident and accident records
  • Supporting clients with welfare rights, budgeting, employment, education and training
  • Ensure communication systems are accurately maintained and up-to-date
  • To be aware of and work within agreed organisation policies and procedures
  • To ensure clients comply with their tenancy agreement
  • This job is a part time role, therefore you will be working with the agency as and when you are needed and on your own accord.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the housing support work sector is a MUST
  • Passion for helping vulnerable people in need of support
  • Knowledge of the benefits system, tenancies and general finance knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic housing management tasks, i.e. rent collection, tenancy agreements and arrears management.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing information, advice and guidance to clients
Preferred
  • NVQ level 2 or above in the relevant sector
  • Driving license and Car
