A leading global life insurer is seeking an Actuarial Manager to join their Strategic Analytics team for a 1-year contract. This role involves leading analyses in mortality and longevity markets, developing best-estimate assumptions, and applying advanced analytical techniques. Qualifications

  • Strong experience in life insurance, reinsurance or actuarial consulting.
  • Background in experience analysis, assumption development, longevity/mortality analytics or pricing.
  • Comfortable working with GLMs, statistical modelling, R, Python or similar tools.
  • Strong communicator able to distil complex analytics into clear insight.
  • Curious, research-minded and keen to work in a role with genuine strategic influence.

Responsibilities

A prestigious global life insurer is seeking a talented actuary to join their Strategic Analytics team for a 1 year contract assignment.

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-profile, research-driven function that shapes the organisation’s view of mortality, longevity and product strategy across multiple markets. Sitting within the Strategic Analytics team and reporting directly to the Head of the function, you will help drive analytical insight, basis development and long-term thinking for the business.

The Role

As an Actuarial Manager, you will:

  • Lead analysis that informs the company’s strategy across mortality, longevity and protection markets
  • Develop and refine best-estimate assumptions, experience studies and trend models
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques (GLMs, survival models, data-driven insights) to support pricing, R&D and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with global R&D, pricing, medical analytics and data science teams to ensure assumptions are robust and market-leading
  • Produce high-quality written insight, presentations and technical commentary for senior internal stakeholders
  • Support new product initiatives and the assessment of emerging risks
  • Contribute to the team’s long-term research agenda and help shape how the business understands future demographic developments
