Job summary

A children's activity organization seeks an Activity Leader to plan and deliver engaging sports sessions for children and young people in Craigavon. The ideal candidate will have experience coaching, a full clean driving license, and the ability to create an inclusive environment. This role offers 25 hours per week, with pay ranging from £7.55 to £12.21 per hour depending on age and qualifications. Candidates should have relevant coaching qualifications and complete an enhanced Access NI check.

THE EMPLOYER IS: HEALTHY KIDZ CIC. As an Activity Leader, you will lead and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate sport sessions for children and young people. The role supports physical development, skill‑building, and character growth in a safe, inclusive, and positive environment. Candidates will be required to travel to various locations as part of their role and complete an enhanced AccessNI check.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver structured, fun, and challenging sports sessions.
  • Teach fundamental skills and game rules in an age‑appropriate, engaging manner.
  • Monitor and adapt sessions based on participant progress and needs.
  • Ensure safety standards are met and equipment is used appropriately.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
  • Encourage values such as respect, discipline, and perseverance.
  • Support mental well‑being and foster confidence through sport.
  • Create an inclusive space where all participants feel supported.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians about progress.
  • Collaborate with schools, teachers, and external professionals for holistic development.
  • Build trust and rapport with young participants, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Record attendance, progress, and any required data accurately.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition and health.
  • Ability to coach a range of sports/activities.
  • Full clean driving licence with access to own vehicle.
  • Enhanced Access NI checks completed.
  • Completed a Safeguarding Course.
  • 1 year experience in delivering coaching sessions with both adults and young people.

Further Information

The job starts with standard hours of up to 25 hours per week. Flexible or reduced hours may be available with Work Coach approval. The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability, and this should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
