Job description

Victoria Dock Primary School are looking to appoint an Achievement Support Assistant to work 22.5 hours per week, term-time only, commencing February 2026.

Salary: Grade 4, Point 5 £25,583 - Point 7 £26,403 pro rata for 22.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 1.00pm, term time only (38 weeks per year).

Responsibilities
  • have appropriate level of numeracy and literacy skills, Grade A-C or equivalent
  • have excellent level of communication skills both with adults and young children
  • have a knowledge of phonics
  • have experience of working with SEND pupils including ASD and learning difficulties
  • have a good level of SEND knowledge
  • have knowledge of child/communication development
  • have the ability to use their own initiative in securing the best for all pupils
  • have excellent ICT skills
  • have the ability to lead intervention groups
  • be a team player with a positive outlook
