Salary: £35,000 - £42,000, commensurate with experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:15
Location: Lingfield (with travel between Lingfield & Caterham offices)

Our client is a highly respected accountancy practice seeking an Accounts Senior / Accountant to join their growing team. This role is ideally suited to an AAT Qualified Accountant with hands-on practice experience, who is confident managing a portfolio of clients and producing high-quality accounts. While ACA or ACCA qualification would be advantageous, this position offers a fantastic opportunity for those with the right practical knowledge and experience to continue building their career within practice.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts to trial balance and beyond
• Management accounts, VAT, CIS, Payroll, and Bookkeeping
• Corporation Tax returns, P11d, and Personal Tax returns
• Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and providing professional advice
• Utilising accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and CCH

Requirements

• AAT Qualification with strong hands-on experience in practice (ACA/ACCA desirable but not essential)
• Excellent knowledge of account preparation, VAT, Tax, and general practice compliance
• Confidence in using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage
• CCH Suit knowledge would be advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting client relationships
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
