Job description

Our client based in Sunbury-on-Thames is currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team.

Location: Sunbury-on-Thames

Salary: Up to £27,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)

Job Type: Permanent, Office-based (not hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
  • Managing the purchase ledger from start to finish
  • Liaising with suppliers and resolving queries in a timely manner
  • Assisting with payment runs and ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Supporting general accounting duties as required
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a purchase ledger or accounts assistant role
  • Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail
  • Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Experience in the freight or logistics industry is preferred but not essential

This is an office-based role with no hybrid or remote working available.
