Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial records and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounts department. This position is perfect for individuals who are keen to develop their skills in accounting and finance within a dynamic environment.

Duties
  • Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using various accounting software, including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft.
  • Perform data entry tasks to update financial information and ensure all records are current.
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide support in financial reporting and analysis as required by management.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc financial projects or tasks as directed by senior staff.
  • VAT returns preparation and submission.
  • Accounts preparation to review stage (SME).
Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
