Job summary

A leading distributor and supplier of electrical products is seeking an Accounts Assistant due to a retirement. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and hardworking, able to work in a team, manage the credit and debtor ledgers, and communicate effectively. Job description

  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8 am - 5 pm 45-minute lunch, Friday 8 am - 3 pm no lunch

Agility is delighted to be working with a leading distributor and supplier of electrical products. Due to the retirement of their previous Accounts Assistant, they are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking accounts person to join their team.

What you will be doing:

  • Ability to work in a team and independently in the account's office.
  • Looking after the credit and debtor ledgers, including daily banking and reconciliation.
  • Credit checks, setting credit limits and payment terms for new accounts and current accounts.
  • Processing payments
  • Credit Control
  • Check utility bills and meter readings.
  • Management of the digital cash book
  • Effective communication both internally and externally to the business
  • General accounts admin
  • Monitoring and maintenance of company stationery, IT equipment and workwear.
  • Holiday and sickness admin and time clock
  • Assisting Finance manager

About you:

  • Sound knowledge of Excel
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, outgoing attitude, team fit is just as important as experience fit
  • Able to work well under pressure to all financial/administrative deadlines
  • Willingness to take on any ad hoc admin duties as required in a small company
