Job description

KennedyPearce are working with a fast-growing, mission-driven scale-up in the clean energy and transport sector. We are looking for a part-qualified candidate with hands on technical experience to join the team. This company offers hybrid working, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

As part of a dynamic and expanding team, the Accountant will play a key role in the delivery of financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across revenue, procurement, payroll, and reporting processes. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain robust reconciliations and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations: Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including transaction processing, reconciliations, payroll journals, revenue recognition, accounts payable, expenses, and asset management. Support budgeting through accurate financial data.
  • Reporting & Control: Deliver timely month-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments. Prepare audit schedules, manage tax filings (including VAT), ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide inputs for cashflow forecasting.
  • Policy & Compliance: Maintain and enforce finance policies, internal controls, and risk management. Drive process efficiencies and support system improvements.
  • Business Support: Provide financial analysis and insights to aid decision-making, support projects and initiatives, and highlight risks or opportunities affecting margins.
This role will suit you if you:
  • Are a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Have strong accounting experience and knowledge.
  • Possess excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Can develop and sustain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and can translate financial data into business insight.
  • Have solid year-end audit experience
  • Understand financial processes, reconciliations and internal controls.
