Job summary

A creative recruitment agency is seeking Accessories and Clothing Designers to develop innovative products. The ideal candidates will have a degree in a relevant field and 3+ years’ experience in design. You will work in a fast-paced environment, creating trend-aligned designs while collaborating with sales and technical teams. Proficiency in CAD tools like Adobe Illustrator and CLO3D is essential. This role is office-based in London, with one work-from-home day per week.

Job description

Our client is looking for creative and trend-led Accessories Designers (handbags, jewellery, hair accessories, phone cases, small good) & Clothing Designers (T shirts, hoodies, sweats, Pj's, robes)

The ideal candidate will combine a strong design aesthetic with an excellent understanding of high‑street trends, customer needs, and brand handwriting. You will work closely with the sales and technical teams to deliver innovative and high‑quality products that drive sales and strengthen brand identity.

4 days a week in their London‑based office, 1 WFH day - there is no negotiation on this.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and interpret seasonal trends, colours, materials, and finishes relevant to the accessories market.
  • Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, and design packs that bring ideas to life in line with brand direction.
  • Create production‑ready design specs of all products.
  • Design trend‑driven, commercial ranges for multiple categories
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and product development teams to ensure ranges hit target prices and margins.
  • Liaise directly with suppliers and factories to develop samples, source new materials, and maintain quality and consistency.
  • Attend fit and development meetings and provide creative input through to final production.
  • Ensure all designs comply with product safety, quality, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor competitor and market activity, sharing insights and new product ideas.
  • Present design concepts and trend proposals to the wider team and senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of brand identity and customer profile, ensuring product ranges align with both.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in accessories or clothing design within a high‑street, e‑commerce, or brand environment.
  • Excellent hand sketching and CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO3D).
  • Strong understanding of materials, hardware, trims, and construction techniques across key accessories categories.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to design within target price points and critical paths.
  • Confident communicator with ability to build relationships with global suppliers.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Awareness of sustainable materials and responsible sourcing practices within the accessories sector.
