A reputable healthcare provider in Salisbury is looking for a 24hr relief operator for their switchboard team. The position requires excellent people skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a flexible approach. Candidates should have GCSE level education or equivalent and ideally some customer care experience. The salary ranges from £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, with additional pay for unsocial hours. We are currently seeking professional and well-presented individuals to join our busy Switchboard team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as a 24hr relief operator.
Our department provides a welcoming 24‑hour, 7‑days‑a‑week telephony and internal emergency response service. The team processes circa 1.2 million calls per year.
In addition to receiving and processing calls, the switchboard team is also front‑facing for patients, staff and visitors via the enquiries window at the main entrance.
Salary Details: All time worked on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8 pm and before 6 am +35 % to hourly rate. All time worked on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) +69 % to hourly rate. Hourly rate starts at £12.75.
We are looking for someone who can work alone and as part of a team, can work well under pressure and remain calm in challenging/difficult situations.
The successful candidate will be responsible, reliable, have excellent people skills and a flexible approach to work.
Previous switchboard or customer care experience would be useful but training and support will be given.
