Responsibilities
  • As our Staff Software Architect, you’ll support HID’s success by: Breaking down high level business input into individual tasks, drive architecture, design, and development of new product features, components, workflows, proof of concept prototypes, interfaces. Work on repaying technical debt and making sure our products are the best they can be
  • Working closely but remotely with project leadership based in USA
  • Participating in Scaled Agile software development process performing tasks including coding and testing modules, maintaining, and tuning applications and related components and help others do the same from the architectural standpoint
  • Participating in troubleshooting/task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with specific internal procedures and standards, as well as industry’s best practices
  • Ensuring and demonstrating code quality through comprehensive and effective unit testing coverage
  • Leading a team of developers by example and provide technical guidance and vision and help them be better
Your Experience and Background include
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred). Candidates with an equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered
  • Excellent understanding of software development within most of the following: Java, NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, microservice architecture, professional server deployment, C++ and advanced SQL
  • 10+ years of development experience in most of the above languages
  • Experience in working with Docker and deployment and delivery of complex solutions within cloud services
  • Deep practical knowledge of cryptography is expected. PKCS11, Asn.1, Microsoft cryptography systems, general cryptography primitives, X509 certificates
  • Experience with certificate life
  • Understanding of certificate life cycle management and underlying protocols like ACME, SCEP, EST, CMPv2
  • At least 7+ years of experience building SaaS products on AWS or comparable platform
  • Good understanding of DevOps processes – CI/CD pipeline and related tools
  • Respect for Computer Science fundamentals, design patterns, and development best practices
  • Understanding of Agile Methodology and Principles is a plus
  • Experience leading small teams is also an advantage
  • Must be comfortable communicating with development teams, Product Owners in English
  • High level of personal accountability, as evidenced by their commitment, resilience, ownership, and mindset toward continuous learning
  • Ability to see the big picture and see ahead of the next quarter in terms of architecture and processes, proven by previous projects and tasks
  • Continuous improvement - must be constantly growing one’s craft, learning new tools and techniques, and sharing these within and among teams
  • Understand that their role in the organization is broader than the details included in this job description
